This work aimed to evaluate the fungicidal activity of oil-in-water (O/W) nanoemulsions of hydroalcoholic extract and essential oil of shoots of Syzygium aromaticum. The activity of the biotechnological product was tested against three fungal strains Aspergillus niger, Colletotrichum gloeosporioides and Penicillium chrysogenum. For antifungal activity of essential oil nanoemulsion, MIC of 25 µg mL-1 25 µgmL-1and 50µgmL-1was obtained against A. niger, C. gloeosporioides and P. chrysogenum respectively. The result for nanoemulsion of hydroalcoholic extract was 50µgmL-1 50µgmL-1and 100µgmL-1for A. niger, C. gloeosporioides and P. chrysogenum respectively. On the other hand, the CIM the nanoemulsion of essential oil showed an activity against A. niger of 25µgmL-1and against C. gloeosporioides it showed an inhibition µgmL-1 in 25 and in the nanoemulsion of hydroalcoholic extract it had its best performance before A. niger of 50 µgmL-1and before C. gloeosporioides which showed inhibition in 50 µgmL-1.Finally, this study indicates the nanoemulsion of S. aromaticum as an alternative fungicide in the control and management of pathogenic fungi.
