Dental occlusion is an important aspect of clinical dentistry; there are diverse functional demands ranging from highly precise tooth contacts to large crushing forces. Quantitative occlusal analysis techniques have been developed to overcome the limitations of qualitative assessment, such as subjective interpretation. The computerized system presents a superior alternative to conventional occlusal registration methods due to its ability to record dynamic tooth contact relationships as force and timing data. T-Scan occlusal analysis recordings, if done properly, can provide an insight into occlusion and related discrepancies, thereby maximizing doctor-patient communication and minimizing complications caused during restorative follow-up visits or occlusal imbalance, as well as providing a more predictable treatment outcome.EMG is widely practiced both in clinical and research fields. In dentistry, uses of EMG are more common in temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder, TMJ dysfunction, dystonia, muscle disease of the head and neck, cranial nerve lesion, and also seizure disorders.
