This volume covers the commentary on S¿rat al-Anf¿l, including the events of the first battle of Islam, the Battle of Badr, and the division of the spoils of battle which receives extensive treatment. It then proceeds to S¿rat at-Tawbah, among whose most important themes are the rulings concerning the collection and distribution of zak¿t, and the last expedition of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, against R¿m, which prefigured the work of the caliphs in their jih¿d against R¿m and the Persians. That is followed by S¿rah Y¿nus about the Prophet Y¿nus who was sent to "a hundred thousand or more" who believed and affirmed, one of the most substantial events of its kind in history before our Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and the people of Madinah.

Ab¿ Müammad ibn A¿mad ibn Ab¿ Bakr ibn Far¿ al-An¿¿r¿ al-Khazraj¿ al-Andalus¿ Al-Qur¿ub¿ (610-11 AH/1214 CE - 671 AH/1273 CE) was born in Cordoba in Spain, but moved in 1236 to Cairo in Egypt, where he lived until his death. He was M¿lik¿ in fiqh, and, although he composed other works, he is most famous for this tafs¿r.
