Autorenporträt
Fredrica Parlett grew up in Pasadena, California, in the 1950s, the place and time of this novel. She graduated from Stanford University in 1961, magna cum laude, with a B.A. in Psychology. She married Beresford Parlett in 1960 and both her children were born in Manhattan in the early 1960s. She was a student and cherished leader in the Gurdjieff Foundation of California from 1965 until her death in 2020. ¿ ¿ ¿ The title of the book, Seekers of Truth, that Dr. R finds in Mme. de Beaufort's apartment is a fictionalized name for In Search of the Miraculous, an account by P.D.
