An unsettling array of original stories where you'll meet a woman of distinction who satisfies herself with murder, a creature from another world, a cop who meets his past head-on, a contract killer who discovers terror that comes from above, a wise-guy, a father devoid of feeling, a fun Halloween night that turns deadly and even wandering corpses. All can be found in these eight short stories - psychological paradoxes, if you will...if you dare...

While growing up in Brooklyn as an only child, F.X. Mandich would make up stories for her own amusement. "Daydreaming got me through wait-time at doctor's offices, supermarkets and airports. The only people unhappy with this tendency were my parents - and sometimes, my teachers!" she says. Once she decided to journal her daydreams. she contributed stories to her high-school magazine and was one of the editors of her school newspaper. While working her way through college, she wrote the only non-fiction she's ever penned - press releases for a large advertising firm's public relations department. She stopped working, got married and, two children later, moved to a small town on the East Coast where she had some of her short stories published. "You're almost 'compelled' to write and you have to take a chance that someone 'out there' wants to read what you wrote." If you are a fan of the creepy-crawly, things-that-go-bump-in-the-night, or just like the unusual, you're in the right place!
