It was published in 2002 and four of the stories were produced on stage in several off-Broadway productions. Flint also spent two weeks aboard the Queen Elizabeth, a newer, more modern version of cruise ships, departing from Southampton, England, for a cruise of the Baltic Sea. He was inspired by the enchanting beauty of Stockholm, Copenhagen, Hamburg, Tallinn, Kiel, and St. Petersburg-and also by the wide array of characters he encountered. The stories born from these experiences are witty, entertaining, and infused with rich character, proving that Alexander Flint is indeed a master of the short story genre.
