I have always been inspired by children's thoughts and words. Most of my nursing career involved working with children while I taught nursing students at a university. Parenting my own three children allowed me to learn about various stages of development. Now, in retirement, I have time to reflect on my own sweet memories. One recollection is the image of a giant groundhog basking in the sun near my parents' home as I was growing up. This led to the making of my present story. I love to write true stories of my own experiences while incorporating input from my own dear grandchildren.
