Autorenporträt
Alan Harris is a veterinarian in private practice near Columbia, South Carolina. He and his wife of over forty-one years have home schooled their six children for twenty-seven years. Always a lover of plants, animals, and the out-of-doors, Dr. Harris was in veterinary medical school at Auburn, Alabama, when he was inspired by a three-step waterfall in a small creek. The seeds of Hawthorn's Discovery were sown. The story was completed over twenty years later at the demand of his children, who at the end of every chapter always asked, "What happens next, Dad?"
