God could have destroyed the dissidents as he did with the flood, but to serve his sovereign purpose for humanity, to populate and tend to the management of all creation, He confounded their language, which disabled communication. The result was a dispersion of people throughout the world. There was no more unified work on the tower because audible and graphic signs were mere babbling.
