Mahad wants to fit in, but some of the students in his school want to make sure he remembers he's an immigrant. When attempts to end their bullying get Mahad in trouble, his uncle offers help in the form of a wise African proverb: Qunyar u socood qodaxii ma mudoo. Watch where you step and you won't get poked by a thorn. Will Mahad be able to spot and avoid trouble by learning from the example of his ancestors? Or will the buried thorns in his life keep tripping him up?
