It looks at it in its many facets: movement structures, sound structures, dancers and musicians, and the complex relations between these factors that all have their share in shaping the practice.

Kendra Stepputat is Associate Professor and currently Head of the Institute for Ethnomusicology, University of Music and Performing Arts Graz (KUG), Austria. She graduated in comparative musicology, Southeast Asian studies, and communication studies at Freie Universität and Humboldt Universität Berlin and concluded her PhD and habilitation at KUG. Her research topics include Balinese performing arts and tango argentino in European perspective. Her research focus is on choreomusical aspects of performing arts.
