With a leaning toward a process philosophy, I found that Tao fit well into my teaching practice. When I began my journaling of my experiences with instructional technology, I did not plan to publish my personal thoughts. I was merely trying to find my way on a new path. As I look back on my own words, I find that I still practice Tao in relating to learners. This gentle way of teaching may not work for all teachers, but it has helped me to respond to my students in a way that seems to satisfy their learning needs. I have changed somewhat since I wrote these words, but I remain the same in the core of my being as a teacher. I have had strong mentors on my path and their presence has certainly added fingerprints to this work.

Dr. Adonica Schultz Aune (Ph.D. in Education and a Ph.D. in Communication and Public Discourse) has taught online courses for the University of Minnesota, Capella University, and now teaches online for the University of North Dakota. She has university experiences in China, Taiwan, Korea, Norway, the USA and with Lakota Native Americans.
