"Life talks to us all the time," says author Paul Quinn, "and the Tarot is an articulate way to facilitate that deep conversation." In this elegant yet down-to-earth book, he shows how to read the cards in conscious partnership with our own higher wisdom and so enjoy a lifelong guide for nurturing spiritual well-being, growth, balance, and joy. With illustrations from the Rider-Waite deck, the book offers 78 concise and instructional real-world case studies (one for each card) from Quinn's past readings for himself and clients. Drawing on Jungian psychology, the Hindu chakras, and other esoteric traditions, he explains how the Tarot can reveal unconscious patterns, offer wise advice, and illuminate the dynamics of relationships to help us make positive choices from a place of greater awareness. Quinn also alerts readers to the ethical responsibilities and psychological pitfalls of doing for oneself and others, and includes advice on reading the cards for children.Hinweis: Dieser Artikel kann nur an eine deutsche Lieferadresse ausgeliefert werden.
Paul Quinn is passionate about helping others gain insights leading to positive changes and greater well-being. He uses the Tarot as a tool to intuitively access the wisdom and guidance which he believes is present within everyone. Listed in 2004 as a "top talent" in Tarot by Chicago Magazine, he is author of Tarot for Life: Reading the Cards for Everyday Guidance and Growth (Quest Books). He uses the Tarot not as fortune-telling, but as a way to shed light on the influences -inner and outer -- that shape our life experiences, and identify opportunities for growth. He picked up his first Tarot deck in 1998. The attraction for Paul was not just the cards but how their meanings corresponded with his lifelong studies in spirituality, mysticism, astrology, psychology, theatre, and human potential. The Tarot gave him the opportunity to integrate skills he had formally developed in practitioner certification programs from Chicago's NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) Institute, Oasis Center for Human Potential Facilitator Training Program (1-year intensive), and in numerous programs at the Omega Institute, CG Jung Center, and Association for Humanistic Psychology. He has presented programs for the Swedenborg Library, Institute for Noetic Sciences, Theosophical Society of America, Unity churches, and bookstores. Rachel Pollack (1945-2023) was the leading light and foremost influence on modern Tarot. Her bestselling book, Seventy-Eight Degrees of Wisdom, first published in 1980 and never out of print, is widely described as the "Bible of Tarot." She was also a great influence upon the science fiction, fantasy, and comics communities, as well as being a trailblazer within the transgender community. A master of many genres, Pollack is renowned for her run of issues #64-87 of Doom Patrol (Vertigo Comics), where she created the first transgender superhero. A prolific author of both fiction and non-fiction, her other books include A Walk Through the Forest of Souls, Unquenchable Fire, Godmother Night, and The Fissure King. She was the creator of The Shining Tribe Tarot and wrote the books for numerous other decks, including The Vertigo Tarot and Salvador Dali's Tarot. Pollack taught at the famed Omega Institute for over thirty years.
