The GDP in Ecuador has had an average annual growth of 2.6% in the last 10 years. Taxes are another important variable since they finance the General State Budget and with it the public spending that contributes to economic growth. For this reason, the objective of this research is to identify, which are the most important sectors, and which of them are the ones that contribute the most to tax collection. The methodology used was descriptive, since it allows collecting, measuring and analyzing information from official sources such as those obtained from the Internal Revenue Service regarding collection levels and statistics from the Central Bank of Ecuador, where it was obtained, the levels of contribution to GDP of each of the economic activities. From the analysis of the variables, it was obtained as a result that the main sectors that contribute to the economy are: the Manufacturing sector, the Construction sector and the Commerce sector, and that the sectors that contribute the most with tax collection are: that of "Commerce" with a collection of $3,338 million, that of "Manufacturing" with $2,245.
