This retrospective soft-cover book is a visual exploration of all ten Tea Lovers Festivals, as well as the organization's tea bus tours in Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego and Ojai, plus various other events. In addition to hundreds of images, it also contains ten years of press release texts, media coverage, festival facts and program lists, music and marketing tips, essays for tea professionals, as well as personal stories and anecdotes. However, the book is not just an archive - it also contains new material. The festival has asked many of its esteemed tea and culinary educators - Robert Wemischner, Kristy Choo, Steve Schwartz, Tiffany Williams and others - to contribute various "Tea Tips", such as recipes for tea-infused desserts and tea cocktails, tea brewing advice, foraging for tea, comparisons between various green and Indian teas, and more. It is also an ideal reference for anyone who wants to do (or already does) creative events or cultural festivals, with indirect tips on writing press releases, creating educational and cultural programming, e-Newsletters and other digital marketing methods, cross-organizational collaborations, and creative fundraising. But most of all, this book is meant to be an inspiration to all tea, culture and community lovers everywhere. As Kulov, the festival's founder and creative director, states in the book's introduction "...I'm most hopeful that this book inspires many of you to create something similar in your own lives. Not necessarily to start a full, long-running tea festival-although that would be nice, as it would allow me to finally participate just as a tea lover-but to take this global, yet communal, beverage of tea and share it in creative ways with family, friends, neighbors and nearby strangers. In doing so, you'd be building crucial personal connections and thus transforming sprawling, impersonal cities, and other such places, into close-knit and caring communities."
