Education has a very significant role in developing an individual to the level of perfection by drawing out the best citizen from him. In the opinion of Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, the former president of India, "the whole purpose of education in a country is to develop and enhance the potential of human resource and progressively transform it into a knowledge society." To fulfill this purpose of education, teacher has a very significant and non-replaceable role. A teacher is not merely a communicator of knowledge; he has to be the director of learning, a transmitter of culture and value; the teacher is a person who teaches by behaving in the manner he would like his pupil to behave. Education is a powerful instrument of social change; the teacher has to be an agent of this change, the work of teacher is not only to confine the classroom and subject teaching alone but also to prepare his pupil a good citizen for the society. The teacher is called the architect of social change and the agent for bringing about the desired change in the society.
