The historical and logical study carried out shows the need to prepare the teachers of the Higher Institute of Educational Sciences of Huambo due to the deficiencies they have in their initial training. In order to complement their training, they require continuing education with the objective of increasing their knowledge, perfecting their skills, consolidating values and developing creative experience in the fulfillment of teaching functions, among them particularly the guiding function, which implies the system of activities aimed at the personal and social growth of the student. In correspondence with the operationalization of the variable and the results of the diagnosis, a pedagogical strategy is proposed that conditions the system of actions aimed at increasing the preparation of teachers for the guidance function. The evaluation of the pedagogical strategy based on the consultation with specialists, and by means of participant observation during its application, made it possible to evaluate the progress obtained in the preparation. It was also explored with the users' criteria, which turned out to be positive.
