Tiene un máster en Liderazgo Educativo por la Universidad de Leicester (Reino Unido), un PGD en Educación por la Universidad Abierta de Sri Lanka y un PGD en Desarrollo Económico por la Universidad de Colombo. Es miembro del Chartered Institute of Marketing, Reino Unido.
