The study examined the staff performance appraisal and teachers career development in the Great Lakes Region , acase of Kakumiro district from Uganda in particular. The study was guided by three objectives: to find out how to improve staff performance appraisal influence career development in schools of Kakumiro District, Uganda.To examine teachers' competence is transformative teaching influences students'performance. To analyses the emerging challenges of staff performamce appariasal in Kakumiro Schools, Uganda.The study adopted mixed methods and a case study designed. The further used positivist philosophy and paradigm to guided by and Vygotsky'constructivism theory. The research design and mixed methodology enabled data collection of both qualitative and quantitative data. Purposeful sampling and stratified approaches were adapted to select unit of analysis from the targeted population. The study used 67research participated were engaged in the study. Theese entailed 10 headtachers and 56 teacers were drawn from the targeted population. Thematic coding, peer debriefing, and the content data analysis was used to draw meaningful sense from the data collected.
