Our commitment as teachers is to develop in our students competencies that allow them to respond to the demands of the labor and social market. So what virtual teaching techniques and strategies should be implemented for students to build meaningful learning? We teachers have had to modify our programs, assignments, and ways of teaching the class virtually. Faced with the contingency, we teachers faced a new challenge: to teach virtually or virtually-presential (blended). As mathematics teachers, our objective was to take advantage of the situation so that students could develop skills -such as reading, writing and speaking mathematically. In this paper we share the experience of a virtual mathematics course under the modality of competencies at the undergraduate level in the career of Clinical Biologist Chemist that is taught in the Faculty of Medicine of the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, the Moodle platform served as communication and technical support for the course activities and the Microsof Teams platform for the virtual classes.
