This paper looks at the teaching of indigenous culture and history in two primary schools (6th to 9th grade) in the municipality of Mâncio Lima, showing the main challenges to the implementation of Law No. 11.645 of March 10, 2008, which decrees the compulsory teaching of indigenous history and culture in the official curriculum of the school system.
