With the aim of contributing to the teaching of physics in secondary schools, we present a proposal for teaching physics by investigation through an Investigative Teaching Sequence, which was planned and guided by various researchers in the field and following the guidelines of the PCNs. The SEI developed aims to develop activities that are essential to the learning process. Initially, an Investigative Activity is described, explaining the points necessary for it to be developed. Next, all the activities that can make up an Investigative Teaching Sequence are presented, along with the SEI developed in this work. Based on these foundations, the reality in which the high school students participating in this research find themselves is analyzed through the Prova Brasil and by analyzing data collected from a diagnostic assessment carried out. After development, we discuss the results of adapting the methodology applied to conclude that the Investigative Teaching Sequence applied hadpositive results in terms of the construction of scientific knowledge.
