Self-assessment as a teaching practice in the training of doctors with a community profile.History of the creation of the chair of community health.This paper is the result of the application of an analytical, critical and reflective strategy of a self-evaluation process of the teaching team of the subject Community Health. The context of the creation of the degree course in Medicine and the recently renamed Faculty of Natural Sciences and Health Sciences (FCNCS) of the National University of Patagonia San Juan Bosco (UNPSJB) has been considered. For this reason, we have started from the experience of applying a self-evaluation process, taking into account, among other things, the historical account of the career from its beginnings and of the human team that teaches the subject, as well as the central constructs stipulated in the subjects that allow us to understand the particularities of the same, which moreover has a community focus in the area of health.
