There is widespread discontent with the performance of IT business projects. Almost all companies have had significant project failures as a result of poor team performance. This book is for managers to increase their capacity to lead successful projects whereby the customer will rave about the project, long after it is finished. It will teach them how to create a collaborative and committed team capable of developing the relationships required for project success. The study used the analytic hierarchy process to identify the team building activities critical for project success from the ever growing list of academic literature on project teams. Confirmation of the study results was achieved by interviewing senior project managers with over 500 years of project management experience. The book covers team leadership; ensuring senior management support; staffing the team properly; planning the project with the team; empowering team members; building commitment among team members; developing strong communication channels and developing appropriate organisational interfaces.
