"In that far away land, night never came and day never broke. It was the place where tears did not fall and worries did not exist..." Nely Cab As I enter my 70th year on this planet, I am drawn to memories of another time and place. It was in many ways so very different from today. Lathemtown was my home. Our family had migrated from South Carolina to Cherokee County, Georgia in the 1830's. They were primarily farmers. Then a small gold mine changed things. New houses, a General Store, a Cotton Gin, a Mule Trading Barn, a Methodist Church and more were built from the proceeds of that little mine. These were the central structures of my childhood (...) My life has been blessed. I hope you enjoy these stories of my childhood and youth. Many of my generation will see themselves in these vignettes. Others will become acquainted with an alien and ancient world. Laugh with me, or at me. I don't care which. But please laugh. The Lord knows we have done enough crying. Reflect on your journey. Maybe you can share your stories.
