"Tears of Deception" is based on a story that my father told me. It demonstrates the power of forgiveness and love over vengeance and hate. It is a love story that contains a religious awakening that would allow one to see the mercy of God. Pachouco, in his love life deceptions, quickly recognized the power of prayers because his mother, Faye Esther, was a praying woman. Pachouco understood that God could and will pardon anyone who confesses and repents their sins. He also understood God's capability to look beyond the sinner's fault and see his needs. Again, this is a powerful story of love, confession, and forgiveness. Pachouco learned a valuable lesson: "Never say never" because God is in control.Pachouco met Minerva, the love of his life and his high school sweetheart. Both were academically intelligent. The love that they shared was modeled after their religious beliefs. Pachouco and Minerva were members of the Haitian Elite; they were wealthy and well-known on the Island, and many young couples enjoyed being in their presence for counseling. Minerva believed in her heart that God created Pachouco for her and never imagined life without him. Pachouco thought that God created Minerva for him to live happily, forgetting one thing life was filled with surprises.
