Irrigation is one of the means by which agricultural production can be increased to meet the growing food demands in Ethiopia. The country has large amount of irrigation potential but 1/10th of the land is merely under irrigation, from this most of the projects are below the required performance. Therefore evaluation of irrigation projects in the country and else where is mandatory to bring new engineering and managerial improvements towards transforming the livelihood of the people in the sustaining manner. This book is aimed to evaluate the performance of small scale irrigation schemes in terms of technical, institutional and economic performance. The analysis will be relevant for researchers, instructors and policy makers working on irrigation projects and policy makers in food security problems.
