The main purpose of this study was to find out the common procedures of teaching vocabulary and to compare the common procedures of teaching vocabulary in terms of vocabulary. Methods and data were generated by using the structured observation, discussion and document analysis. The researcher observed the classes of various Secondary Level English Teachers and they were selected at random. The researcher observed five classes of each. Even though there are several aspects of language, it was only confined to find the common techniques of teaching vocabulary in grade nine in Kathmandu district, Nepal. The obtained data were tabulated and analyzed using the simple statistical tool of percentage.The English Language teachers of secondary level were found to be using different techniques in teaching vocabulary.
