In this work, a market study is carried out from secondary sources in order to project the demand for Green Diesel in Colombia and analyze political and economic factors that may influence decision making. Subsequently, a technical study is carried out where the optimal plant size is estimated and a location matrix is made in order to calculate operational, non-operational and capital costs, among others. Finally, the cash flow of the project is elaborated and from the net present value (NPV), internal rate of return (IRR) and investment recovery period (IRP) indicators, the prefeasibility of the construction of a renewable diesel (green diesel) production plant from palm oil in Colombia is determined.
