While services at hotels are predominantly labour intensive, it is apparent that the proliferation of technology has enhanced the chain of operations to ensure services of respective hotels are adequately maintained. The existence of improved technological infrastructure can theoretically enable more strategic executions, one must consider whether the existing human resources have the capability to cope with such technological advancement. In other words, although there is a direct correlation between technology and labour efficiency, the practicality and effectiveness of information systems provides the greatest challenge in delivering its supposed effectiveness.
