Telemedicine for Adolescent and Young Adult Health Care offers readers case-based content written by experts in the fields of adolescent medicine and telemedicine. The first chapter offers a general overview and history of telemedicine. The next one focuses on telemedicine and epidemics. The chapters in the middle detail a variety of topics related to telemedicine such as confidentiality, equity, telemedicine and learners, school-based care, telemedicine in primary care and ambulatory consultative care. The book closes out by emphasizing additional populations such as youth involved in the juvenile carcel system, homeless/housing insecure, foster involved youth and youth with developmental delay. It is a valuable resource for adolescent medicine specialists, pediatricians, primary care physicians and any other professional who treats the adolescent population.

Golub University of Washington Seattle, WA, USA Gina Sequeira University of Washington Seattle, WA, USA The editors offer expertise in adolescent medicine as well as the use of telemedicine to provide health services to adolescents and young adults.  Dr. Evans is the current Division Head of the Division of Adolescent Medicine at Seattle Children's Hospital, served as the director of telemedicine at a stand-alone Pediatric hospital for four years and has provided telemedicine services to adolescents for nearly a decade.  Dr. Golub is Program Director of the Adolescent Medicine fellowship at the University of Washington and has pioneered adapting trainee education into telemedicine encounters in the program.  Dr. Sequeira is the co-director of the Seattle Children's Hospital Gender Clinic andresearch focuses on understanding how best to use telemedicine to expand access to gender-affirming care. All 3 editors co-authored a peer reviewed manuscript on the use of telemedicine in adolescent health during the COVID-19 pandemic. This book will provide an overview of the use of telemedicine to improve access to care for adolescents and young adults with highlights on advances that have occurred during and beyond the COVID-19 pandemic.
