Professor K. D Farooqui, received advanced training and education in Fruit Breeding in France and England. He evolved high quality, high yielding and Scab resistant apple varieties; remained actively involved in teaching; received Gold Medal and "Shiksha Ratan Puraskar" Award. Indian Council of Agriculture Research awarded him Professor Emeritus.
