Conservation of anchorage has been a perennial problem to the traditional orthodontists. Conventional means of supporting anchorage have been using either intra-oral sites or relying on extraoral means. Both have their benefits and limitations. The extraoral forces require on the patient's compliance also chances of facial injury are increased with headgear and facemask therapy. An intraoral anchorage device like temporary anchorage device is beneficial and popularly being used these days by the practitioners as a means of anchorage control.
