Temporo-mandibular disorders are known to cause diagnostic dilemmas in stomatognathic system as the pathologies currently defined may vary in nature. Therefore knowledge and awareness of these mysteries along with evidence of anatomy and function of TMJ are essential for solving the complex and controversial issues related to their management. Imaging of TMJ is desirable to evaluate normal growth and development of the TMJ along with alterations in pathologic conditions including developmental, degenerative, inflammatory and traumatic changes.It's essence is focused on future innovations directed towards taking the mystique out of the diagnosis and treatment of craniomandibular (TMJ) disorders.
