The book takes readers on a journey to discover tensors -- powerful mathematical concepts used in many areas of modern science. Starting from familiar grounds of numbers and operations with numbers, readers will re-examine familiar concepts in a new light and then arrive at new concepts gradually, connecting the dots along the way. The goal of this book is to explain tensors by showing them in action and in relation to less complicated concepts, such as numbers and vectors. The book is accessible to anyone with solid foundations in high-school algebra and sufficient focus and curiosity. The solutions to all exercises are provided in the end…mehr
