J.Y. Wong has been engaged in research and development in the field off-road mobility for over five decades. Many of his research findings have found wide applications in industry, including the software packages developed under his direction for predicting tracked and wheeled vehicle performance on terrestrial and extra-terrestrial terrains. In recognition of his significant contributions to the field, he has been presented with many awards by learned societies, including the George Stephenson Prize and Starley Premium Award (twice) by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, U.K. He is presently on the editorial/advisory boards of a number of leading international journals in vehicle engineering. He is an internationally recognized leading expert in the field of ground vehicle mobility.
