Produktbeschreibung
The municipality of Holambra, located in the state of São Paulo, is the main producer of flowers and ornamental plants in Brazil. Its intense specialization in production can be seen in the technical apparatus installed there, where huge greenhouses and countless irrigation systems design its landscape. The cultivation of flowers is different from other agricultural crops in Brazil. Its production is carried out on small properties with intense use of labor, but it also requires a large number of inputs and resources, such as water. In view of this, Holambra has numerous water abstractions in its territory, which has caused setbacks in the water availability of its river basins. Against this backdrop, the aim of this work is to analyze the importance of using water resources in the production of flowers and ornamental plants in Holambra, seeking to identify the territorial vulnerabilities generated by the corporate use of this resource, which is indispensable to the life of any individual.
