The fish has a mutation in its own sodium channels, which makes it resistant to the effect of the toxin.

For over 17 years our team studied the biotoxin from marine invertebrates. Based on our work, I have set up a Marine Biotoxinology Laboratory in my department which was supported by Govt. of India.
