Stephen C. Kaufman, MD, PhD is The Vice-Chairman, Professor and Director of Cornea and Refractive Surgery at the State University of New York - Downstate. He is the Chairman of the American Academy of Ophthalmology's Knowledge Base Committee for Cornea, sits on the Executive Board of the Cornea Society, serves on the Medical Advisory Board of the Eye Bank Association of America, is Chairman of the Mid-West Cornea Association and serves on other American Academy of Ophthalmology, Eye Bank Association of America and Cornea Society committees. He has lectured internationally and published and presented over 300 papers. Douglas Lazzaro, MD, FACS, FAAO, is the Richard C. Troutman M.D. Distinguished Chair in Ophthalmology and Ophthalmic Microsurgery and serves as Professor and Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology at SUNY Downstate. He serves as director of Continuing Medical Education for the department of Ophthalmology, and has been course director for many regional and international symposia. He also serves as Director of Ophthalmology at University Hospital of Brooklyn, and Kings County Hospital Center. Dr. Lazzaro lectures regularly throughout the United States, is a lifetime member of Swathmore's Who's Who and has been named to Super Doctors by the New York Times on multiple occasions.
