Dr. N.N. Mahapatra is a B.Sc ( Tech ) in Textile Chemistry from UDCT, ( now ICT) Mumbai. He also holds a M.Sc and Doctorate in Applied Chemistry from Utkal University, Orissa. He did his M.B.A from I.M.M, Kolkata
