Cresswell offers a solution to past inept decisions made by governments to look after their mates. While often raising eyebrows, this book invites us to have a say in the direction our nation is moving.

Autorenporträt
Bruce Cresswell is a retired local government engineer and surveyor with extensive experience across all three levels of government in Australia. He has practical experience managing large departments, preparing budgets, and ensuring that taxpayer funds are spent wisely and transparently. Bruce believes that public service is a noble calling, but when mismanaged, it can become a corrupt system. Throughout his career, he served as a senior government employee and as an elected representative, holding roles such as Shire President, Town Mayor, and City Mayor in a major tourist community in Western Australia. His leadership was marked by accountability to the people, emphasising that public servants are just that-servants of the people, not the other way around. He has been a vocal advocate for government transparency, insisting that all levels of government be open to public scrutiny. Bruce contends that our nation's resources belong to the people and that mismanagement of taxes and revenues has undermined the public trust. He believes it's time to reclaim control of the nation and address the inefficiencies created by those who work for the public but often act in their own interests. As a small business owner, Bruce has firsthand experience with government red tape, often frustrated by unnecessary restrictions that seem designed to protect the interests of public servants rather than the people they serve. In addition to his government roles, Bruce has served as Chief Bushfire Control Officer, overseeing a volunteer force and planning fire management strategies. He has also contributed to local tourist organizations, environmental boards, and sporting bodies, always maintaining a strong commitment to his community. His diverse experience and outspoken views make him well qualified to research and comment on the state of the nation, particularly in relation to the influence of often faceless and unelected elites.
