Mike Gammon was born and raised in Raleigh North Carolina, earning his undergraduate degree in biology from North Carolina State University and his PhD in biochemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After years of research in molecular neurobiology and earning his MD degree, he began his private practice as a psychiatrist, focusing on treatment of children, adolescents, young adults and families, including therapy and medication management. In his spare time, he enjoys mountain climbing, hiking, fly fishing, classical guitar and rowing. He has written a number of unpublished children's books.
