In this book, three stage productions from 1994 are documented. A century after the Dreyfus affair, an opera, a musical satire and a danced drama dealing with the affair were shown in Berlin, Bonn and Basle.
The book was produced for the premiere of the opera in New York in 1996. Included are all the lyrics written by George R. Whyte. Numerous photographs of the performances in Berlin and Bonn illustrate the text. Several essays deal with the lessons to be learned from the Dreyfus affair. The author concludes that what happened one hundred years ago can happen again today.
