This book seeks to examine the lives of rural Dalit women in private as well as public spheres. A theoretical framework of poverty, shame and social exclusion has been used to explore the objectives. Ashish Kumar Singh a obtenu son doctorat en chimie inorganique à l'Université Banaras Hindu de Varanasi (Inde) en 2011. Il a ensuite travaillé avec le professeur Qiang Xu (AIST) en tant que boursier postdoctoral JSPS, avec le professeur B.R. Jagirdar (IISc) en tant que boursier postdoctoral DSK. Il travaille actuellement comme professeur INSPIRE au SMST, IIT(BHU).
