He is a nationally recognized educator well-known for his practical instructional materials and stimulating conference presentations. In addition, he is an award-winning and best-selling author of more than 170 books, including professional resource books The Adjunct Professor's Complete Guide to Teaching College; Ace Your Teacher Resume, children's books Desert Night, Desert Day; The Tsunami Quilt, and adult-non-fiction In Search of the Old Ones: An Odyssey among Ancient Trees; From Fizzle to Sizzle. His extensive background includes experience as a classroom teacher, reading specialist, adjunct professor, curriculum coordinator, educational consultant, and staff developer.
