Clara Jean came to us as a rescue mission. Her mother couldn't care for her, so she needed lots of love, and my children were very good at this. The story begins with this fuzzy, tiny, black bundle of cuteness that was a pygmy goat. From day one, she considered herself part of the family-an actual person! And she made my kids her own kids. Autorenporträt
This book was written by Kay Mosser as an effort to record some family stories for her children and grandchildren. The Clara Jean episodes are one of many stories evolving from living in a country atmosphere with all the fun and learning experiences it provided. The author and her family raised a variety of farm animals, along with five children. She writes from the perspective of a mother and a participant. She states that she was equally amused by the children and their creatures. Educated as a teacher, this mother and grandmother has always been interested in children and most particularly in encouraging their reading. She feels that her family has created its own story and produced many little footprints. Her goal is for the readers to be able to enjoy her children as much as she did! Aside from writing, the author also enjoys sewing, quilting, karate, genealogy, and painting. Some of the illustrations in the book are hers and her grandchildren's.
