As Johnny and Zoe look for a way home, they meet a moth named Mr. Freebee and some fireflies who save them from a crow hoping to make the travelers its dinner. Mr. Freebee tells them that he's seen Johnny's parents recently and guides them to a dragonfly named Sierra of the Pool who can help Johnny on the next part of his journey. With Sierra's help, Johnny and Zoe embark on a dangerous journey through the forest that's filled with strange plants and creatures. Just when they think that all hope is lost and that they'll be stuck forever, the trio makes a discovery that changes everything.
