Autorenporträt
Mike Florio is a father, husband, teacher, and world traveler. He taught elementary and middle school for 20 years. His wife has also been a teacher for nearly 50 years. They both enjoy working with special needs students. Their home is open to international students from all over the world to share their cultural and academic skills with them. They have hosted students from China, Japan, and most of Europe. Anthony Florio loves art. Since both of his parents are artists, he has always been surrounded by art his whole life. Paints, pencils, and pens were always nearby. He started out by randomly sketching skateboard graphics and stickers in his own sketch pad. Then he started with graphics and created his own characters. Growing up in Los Angeles, he could not help being inspired by all the graffiti art throughout its streets. He was hooked by the time he graduated from high school! After moving to San Diego from LA, he enrolled in a school specializing in the visual arts and received a BA degree in media arts and animation. He has been able to work with many talented people on projects such as, The Little Mermaid, Man of Steel, Captain America, The Smurfs 2, and The Amazing Spiderman, just to name a few. It is important for him to be engaged in some form of art every day. He is inspired by the never-ending combinations of art forms.
