John Luther Langworthy was an American author and reporter who, in the early 1900s, wrote a series of action books for kids. "The Airplane Boys" series, which was his most popular work, was about two young boys who grow up to be pilots and flight pioneers and go on exciting adventures. It was famous that Langworthy paid close attention to every detail and could correctly write about how airplanes and engines worked in his books. Young people loved reading his books because they were full of exciting adventures and accurate descriptions of the aviation world. Although Langworthy was an author, he was also a journalist and a public speaker. He often gave talks about engineering and flight. He died in 1952, but his work as one of the first authors of flight books for kids will live on.
