Examples of the fact that religion is a key element to be considered in international relations are the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948, the Islamic Revolution of 1979, the emergence of religious-based organizations. The end of the Cold War, the disintegration of the Soviet Union and the failure of Arab nationalism have made religion more visible in international relations. In this study, such as the following topics; the religious beliefs of decision-makers, the use of religion as a source of legitimacy in the foreign policy, the transnational problem of transcending national borders, the influence of holy places in international relations and the effect of religion in the establishment of international alliances were discussed and it will be tried to explain that the religion is an important key element in shaping international relations or not.
